What is Dermalux LED for Rosacea & Redness?

Dermalux LED phototherapy is a gentle, non-invasive treatment using carefully selected wavelengths of light to help improve the appearance of redness and support skin recovery.

For rosacea-prone skin, red and near-infrared light may help calm inflammation and encourage a more comfortable, balanced complexion. Treatment can form part of an ongoing skin-management plan; rosacea is a long-term condition and results vary.

Good for?

  • Rosacea-prone skin with visible facial redness.
  • Sensitive, reactive skin.
  • Supporting skin recovery and comfort.
  • Improving the appearance of an uneven complexion.

What happens during treatment?

Your therapist begins with a consultation to assess your skin, discuss your concerns and review any medication or sensitivity to light.

After gentle cleansing, you relax on the treatment bed with protective eyewear while the Dermalux device is positioned above your skin. Your therapist selects the appropriate light programme for your needs.

Following treatment, suitable skincare and sun protection are applied, with advice on caring for your skin at home.

Additional information

Pain levelTreatment is usually comfortable and painless. You may notice a gentle feeling of warmth.
Full recoveryUsually no recovery time is required, allowing you to return to your normal daily activities immediately.
Sensitivity periodNo additional sensitivity is usually expected. As rosacea-prone skin can be reactive, we recommend gentle skincare, daily sun protection and avoiding your known flare-up triggers.
Results drivenA course of treatments may gradually improve visible redness and skin comfort. Results and the number of sessions required vary, and maintenance may help sustain improvements.
Dermalux does not cure rosacea. Evidence for LED treatment specifically for rosacea is still developing, and medical treatment may also be needed.
Potential risksSide effects are uncommon but may include temporary redness, warmth or irritation. Certain medicines and conditions can increase sensitivity to light, so a full consultation is essential before treatment.
