What is Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive resurfacing treatment that gently removes the outermost layer of dead skin cells.

The treatment helps reveal fresher-looking skin beneath, improving luminosity and creating a smoother, more refined complexion.

Good for?

Microdermabrasion may help improve:

  • Dull or tired-looking skin
  • Surface dead-cell build-up
  • Congestion
  • Enlarged-looking pores
  • Uneven or rough skin texture
  • Mild areas of uneven skin tone
  • Fine, superficial lines
  • Overall skin smoothness and luminosity

What happens during treatment?

Your skin is thoroughly cleansed before the microdermabrasion handpiece is passed systematically across the selected areas.

The device provides controlled surface exfoliation while gentle suction removes dead skin cells and debris. The intensity and number of passes are adjusted according to the thickness, sensitivity and condition of the skin.

Particular attention may be given to areas of congestion, roughness or uneven texture. Sensitive areas are treated more gently or avoided where necessary. A second AHA peel is added which creates a more effective ‘double peel’.

Additional information

Full recoveryLittle to no recovery time is normally required.
Sensitivity periodThe skin may feel slightly warm, tight, dry or sensitive for approximately 24–48 hours.
Exfoliating acids, retinoids, facial waxing, excessive heat, strenuous exercise and further exfoliation should be avoided for the period advised by your practitioner. Daily broad-spectrum sun protection is essential.
