What is Tattoo Removal?

There is now a safe and effective way of permanently removing unwanted tattoos. At House Of Beauty,  we use the  NanoPP QS Nd:YAG 1064/532nm lase, the  latest medical-grade laser technology to remove tattoo ink

This Laser generates an extremely powerful pulse (MegaWatt), in very short emission times (nanoseconds), to safely and effectively treat tattoos of different colors, including yellow and green, superficial and deep benign pigmented lesions even in clients of dark phototype, preserving the surrounding tissues from scarring.

The tattoo lightens slightly with each treatment. The number of treatments varies between 6-12 and depends on skin colour, ink colour (green and yellow are least responsive), ink depth, size, and age of tattoo.

The tattoo will continue to fade between each treatment, and you decide when you stop coming.

The number of treatments required will depend on the age of the tattoo, the type of ink, how well your lymphatic system works and several other variables. It is impossible to say how many sessions your tattoo will need for removal. Fading for cover-ups requires fewer treatments than are needed for complete removal.

What happens during treatment?

• Prior to treatment you will have a test patch test to determine the most effective energy for the treatment.
• You’ll wear protective eye shields.
• The treatment itself consists of placing a hand piece against the surface of your skin and activating the laser light repeatedly (pulse) over the surface of the tattoo.The laser is directed precisely at those skin cells that contain the tattoo pigment. The beam is powerful enough to fragment those cells, breaking up the bead of dye into particles small enough to be dealt with by the body’s own defence mechanisms, through a series of natural processes. Our lasers  are very precise, and exposure to the beam is short. This means that only the tattooed cells are affected, and the surrounding tissue is not touched, resulting in no permanent scarring. The energy from the laser breaks down the tattoo ink into tiny fragments, which are eventually removed via the body’s lymphatic system
• Immediately after treatment, you can apply an ice pack to soothe the treated area.
• You may need to apply a topical antibiotic cream or ointment to your skin.
• You should use a bandage to protect the site. You can shower the next day, but it’s best to avoid scrubbing the affected area.
• You should also cover the treated area with sunscreen when you go outdoors.
• Try not to pick at your skin after treatment because it could lead to scarring.
• Care of the area should continue for several days.
