What is Veinwave Skin Tag Removal?

Skin tags are small, soft, usually harmless growths that often develop where skin rubs against skin or clothing.

Veinwave uses thermocoagulation - a controlled application of heat through an ultra-fine probe - to treat suitable skin tags precisely. The treated tag dries and separates from the skin as the area heals.

Before treatment, we assess each growth to check its suitability. Any uncertain, changing, painful or bleeding lesion requires medical assessment before removal.

Good for?

  • Small, benign skin tags
  • Tags that catch on clothing or jewellery
  • Skin tags in areas prone to rubbing
  • Clients wishing to improve the appearance of their skin

What happens during treatment?

Your practitioner begins with a consultation, reviews your medical history and assesses the skin tags you would like removed.

Following a satisfactory test patch, the area is cleansed and an ultra-fine probe applies controlled energy to the selected tags. You may feel brief heat or a mild stinging sensation.

The treated tags may darken, dry out or form a small crust before separating naturally. You receive aftercare advice to support healing.

Additional information

Pain levelUsually mild, brief discomfort, described as warmth, stinging or a pinprick sensation. Sensitivity varies depending on the area and size of the tag.
Full recoveryHealing typically takes around 6–14 days, although larger tags and areas exposed to friction may take longer. Temporary pinkness can remain after the surface has healed.
Sensitivity period
The area may feel sensitive for approximately 3–7 days. Avoid rubbing, scratching or picking, and allow any crust to fall away naturally.
Follow your aftercare instructions on cleansing, skincare, swimming and heat exposure. Protect exposed healing skin from the sun.
Results drivenResults become visible as the treated tag separates and the skin heals, often within 7–14 days.
A successfully removed tag does not usually return, although new skin tags can develop elsewhere. Some tags may require further treatment.
Potential risks
Possible side effects include temporary redness, tenderness, swelling and crusting. Less commonly, bleeding, infection, burns, scarring or changes in skin colour can occur.
